K-12 Cybersecurity Strategy, Policy, and Practice: A Cross-Organizational Imperative
Thursday, October 28 at 1pm ET
Join a panel of distinguished K-12 leaders for a roundtable discussion on cybersecurity strategy, with a special focus on cross-organizational challenges and opportunities.
School districts have undergone a digital transformation in recent years, making day-to-day operations highly dependent on IT resources to perform their functions. At the same time, critical applications and databases have mostly migrated ‘to the cloud’ to provide 24/7 availability and access for everything from instruction—whether in the classroom or virtual—to business operations, transportation, security, and beyond. With this increased reliance on IT comes the need to plan for resilience in the face of threats to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IT services and systems.
This roundtable will explore three key components which contribute to a comprehensive and proactive district wide cybersecurity strategy.
Panelists include:
Greg Ottinger, former Chief Business Officer of San Diego (CA) Unified School District
Lenny Schad, Chief Information and Innovation Officer of District Administration, and former CIO/COO of Houston (TX) Independent School District
Marlon Shears, Chief Information Officer of Fort Worth (TX) Independent School District
